Joe Bonamassa has revealed that the #6 model of his signature Fender Custom Shop Nocaster has been recovered, after announcing it had gone missing in transit earlier this week.

Bonamassa shared the update on Instagram, writing: “Many thanks to all of you out there who helped us in locating JB006. It is back safe and sound and finally on its way to Guitar World Magazine for review after spending two weeks in brackish custodial custody. This time we are shipping it via Autogyro with the help of the Prussian Consulate.”

On Monday 17 May, Bonamassa had announced on Instagram that the instrument had gone missing on the way to the Guitar World office for review.

He initially stated that FedEx told him that the “guitar is MIA within their system without recourse nor hope of a solution. I will try not to play detective here… but I would surmise that it was stolen probably by someone who had access to the truck or the distribution facility. To be honest, a 23-pound guitar box does not just disappear that easily with or without a tracking number.”

Announced last month, the limited-edition guitar is a detailed Custom Shop recreation of his ‘51 Nocaster. The guitar will be available in a small run of 100 pieces, retailing for $8,500 each. You can reserve one exclusively through Joe Bonamassa’s online store with a $500 deposit.
