KMA Machines has launched a new limited-edition of its Wurm distortion pedal – entitled the Wurhm.

The last two letters of that name may evoke another cult-classic distortion pedal, as might the new orange-and-black colour-scheme the Wurhm finds its terrifying, toothy artwork decked out in. Yes, the Wurm is KMA Machines’ take on the chainsaw-in-a-box that is the  Boss HM-2 – which, coincidentally, will be reissued next year.

As the brand itself puts it: “We’ve never tried to hide the fact that our Wurm Distortion is our unabashed sonic love letter to this filthy box of doom and gloom, but taking it much further and pushing the envelope of how destructive it can be.”

“So, we only saw it fitting to adorn our mega metal monster in the iconic black and orange colours, not only to really profess our love and admiration but to also celebrate the milestone of 1000 Wurm units that have now been made. Only 200 Wurhm Distortion pedals will be created and available in this finish, plus in addition, every purchaser of a Wurhm can claim a limited-edition super cool free Wurhm T-Shirt.”

To the original format of the pedal, the Wurhm and the Wurm add a highly configurable 4-band active EQ, as well as 3 distinct types of high mids to add far deeper sonic sculpting to the sound.

You can find out more and order the limited-edition pedal for £199 here.
