Fresh from Lawrence Petross Design’s corner is the Seventy 4 Preamp, an overdrive pedal aimed at capturing 70s British amp sounds.

The unit’s sonic character is based on classic British amps, lending crunch to smooth and clean-sounding instruments.

In terms of controls, the pedal features a three-band EQ, level, gain and presence knobs. The latter adjusts the level of “sparkle” in your mix, according to the brand. Increasing sparkle enables your tone to cut through the mix, while reducing it aids you in striking a better blend between the pedal and an amp.
