LEGO are set to launch a Fender Stratocaster brick set based on an entry to the LEGO Ideas “Music To Our Ears” design contest.

The brick set was conjured up by LEGO Ideas user TOMOELL, who based it on the dream guitar of their teenage years. The design presents the Stratocaster in a multitude of colours, including black, white, yellow, red and blue. In another image, the Strat also gets some amplification via a LEGO Fender combo amp – complete with foot switch.

“As a teenager I started playing [electric] guitar, specifically this one, was my big dream,” TOMOELL wrote in the entry’s description.

“In the end I started to devote more time to percussion instruments, but the original Fender Stratocaster is a big dream still today and this instrument was for me a gateway to the world of music, it would be great to have it in the form of LEGO bricks.”

The brick set will be the first in a new line of music-themed releases from LEGO, aimed at adult audiences.

“Everyone has seen the Fender Stratocaster guitar, it’s super famous and we think it’s going to be exciting to bring this to life using LEGO bricks,” LEGO Ideas Design Manager Sam Johnson told Brick Fanatics. “Music is a relatively new place for LEGO to play in so we’re really excited to see how we can execute this.”

In another entry to the contest, LEGO Ideas user Brickskipper paid tribute to the rock band Queen in an all-LEGO monument that portrays the cover art to Queen II, as well as all members and their instruments.
