Lollar Pickups has announced the Novel Foil pickups, which are designed as a drop-in replacement for humbucker-sized pickups. These derive the brand’s highly-popular Gold Foil pickups, previously only available in soapbar, dogear, surface- and floating-mount forms.

Like the earlier Gold Foil pickups, the Novel Foils are said to offer much in the higher frequency zones, with the brand promising a “crystal clear top end with lots of in-your-face harmonic overtones, plus a wide dynamic range that can make your tube amp give up the dirt.” Hear them for yourself below.

To match your guitar’s aesthetic, you can pick these up in an array of styles. Cover/ring colour options include chrome, nickel, and – for $10 more – gold. Plus, you can also get caps in gold, black or silver foil.

The Novel Foil pickups are available as a neck, middle or bridge pickup, and you can get them a la carte, as a pair or a trio. A chrome or nickel-covered single is priced at $205.
