Martin announces three new ukulele models for 2021

Martin has announced a trio of new ukulele models for 2021.

The new ukuleles vary in feature set and appointments, meaning players of all skill levels will likely find something that suits their needs. Here’s a quick rundown of the instruments:

Concert Uke FSC

This high-performance ukulele caters to professional players in search of an eco-friendly instrument. The Concert Uke FSC features a top, back and sides fashioned out of mahogany that’s 100 per cent certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Its construction involves an applied dovetail mahogany neck that offers improved stability and – new to Martin ukes – GraphTech Ratio tuners that provide smooth and accurate tuning. It’s also finished in a satin finish for a slight sheen.

Priced at $2,399

T1 Uke StreetMaster

The T1 Uke StreetMaster is a tenor ukulele with an attractive aged, weathered appearance. It features a completely mahogany body construction – which is said to make it lightweight and bright in tone. Particularly for guitar players – who are used to strumming on a larger instrument – this uke’s dimensions make it a comfortable transition instrument. Plus, it’s offered at just $449.

0XK Concert Uke

Hand-selected Hawaiian koa gives the 0XK Concert Uke the rich wood grain patterns of a premium instrument – all without breaking the bank. It’s also durable, as it uses high-pressure laminate in its construction, meaning you can take it outdoors without worrying about ruining it. This uke is available at $299.

This trio of new ukeleles follow the recently announced 00L Earth guitar and David Gilmour Signature D-35s. The former is a new acoustic that’s the first to be 100 per cent Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and plastic-free. The latter are a couple of artist signatures – a six- and a 12-string – designed in collaboration with the iconic guitarist.
