Mooer adds two Micro Preamp models

These dual-channel pedals are designed to emulate classic tube amp tones.

Mooer Micro Preamp

Mooer has announced the latest entries to its Micro Preamp series: the 019 UK Gold PLX and 020 Blueno. They may be petite, but these stompboxes are capable of “sonically accurate digital recreations of the preamp sections of popular tube amplifiers”, the brand claims.

The 019 UK Gold PLX is modelled after a ’67 50-watt Plexi, and its tone is sampled from an amp in the personal trove of LA Guns guitarist Tracii Guns. The pedal can produce a variety of tones that range from sparkling cleans to a classic overdrive. The latter is voiced with biting mids and just enough low-end sag to mirror the fully cranked tone of a vintage amp.

The 020 Blueno, on the other hand, features two channels that based on a hand-built, 36-watt Class A amp. Its blue channel features a silky chime with a deep, spacious feel, while its more aggressive red channel shimmers with high-end sparkle, rich harmonics, and plenty of sustain.

Like the previous Micro Preamp pedals, these models have two channels each, an integrated speaker cabinet simulation, as well as dedicated controls for gain, volume and a three-band EQ.
