Mooer’s desktop modelling amp, the Hornet, gets an all-white makeover

Mooer, on top of recently releasing a new synth addition to its run of micro pedals, has given the Hornet amplifier an all-white makeover. The amp is home to Mooer’s ‘non-linear modelling technology’, meaning the small practice amplifier is packed with responsive preamps.

The amp lies somewhere in between the Yamaha THRII and the Blackstar Fly 3 in terms of size, but offers similar practice-amp functionality. The compact, retro design, finished in creamy white, features a top control panel for management of bass, treble, midrange, volume and gain, while the chickenhead knob on the front of the amp selects from one of nine amp models. The built-in effects the Hornet White offers are modulation, delay and reverb. The amp’s 6.5” speaker is driven by a 15-watt power section.

The amp allows for nine presets to be stored and recalled, or the amp can operate in live mode, which reads directly from the control panel. For playing along and practising, there’s an eighth-inch aux-in jack, or you can connect with Bluetooth for playback. For silent practising, there’s also a headphone output. A tuner also means you can go entirely-pedal free.
