Music Is Win’s Tyler Larson “buys” $500,000 Klon centaur from JHS’ Josh Scott

How much would you pay for a guitar pedal? Likely the answer to that question is probably well below half a million dollars. However, that’s not the case for guitar YouTuber Tyler Larson, AKA Music Is Win, who seems to have shelled out just that amount for the first Klon Centaur ever made – serial number #2, listed on Reverb.com by JHS founder Josh Scott.

Or did he? Well, without diving into Larson’s private finances it’s hard to tell. And given the tongue-in-cheek nature of the original listing, it’s maybe safe to assume that the sale is similarly so. Scott’s Reverb listing read: “You know what it is. If you want the best Klon, it’s this Klon. “Because of the prices lately here on the Reverb, I think this is a fair price for what it is. I only took one picture because that’s good enough. What you see is what you get, no box, nothing, just the pedal. The pedal will be hand-delivered by me, in-person to anywhere on earth for free. Allow 30 days for me to clear my schedule and get it to you from the date of purchase.”

“Buy it or don’t, I don’t really care,” it concluded.

The listing has ended, and now redirects to the Centaur’s page on Reverb – along with a price history graph, which notably doesn’t spike all the way up to $500,000 at any point.
