NAMM 2020: Charvel has announced it is expanding its Pro-Mod DK24 range with several new variations. It is also introducing an all-new instrument, the Pro-Mod DK22 SSS 2PT CM.

Pro-Mod DK22 SSS 2PT CM

The new Pro-Mod DK22 comes routed for a triple single-coil setup, as opposed to the HH and HSH arrangements found on the DK24 models. However, for the trademark Pro-Mod balance of aggression and versatility, the guitar is loaded with a Seymour Duncan Custom Hot Rails SHR-1b single-coil-sized humbucker. In the middle-position is a Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 single-coil, and in the neck is a Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 RWRP single-coil.

All of the Pro-Mod DK22 SSS 2PT CM’s pickups are direct mount. These are controlled by a five-way selector switch, a master volume and no-load tone control for bright, unimpeded signal.

The 22-fret neck features a speedy thin satin urethane finish for comfortability while shredding, as well as what Charvel calls a “shredder’s cut heel” and a scalloped lower back bout easy upper fret access. The guitar is also loaded with a Gotoh Tremolo, and comes finished in either Electric Blue, Gloss Black or Pharaoh’s Gold.

Pro-Mod DK24 series

Charvel has also expanded its options for the Pro-Mod DK24 range. For those wanting a dual-humbucker configuration, Charvel is now offering the Pro-Mod DK24 HH FR M Mahogany, with a quilt maple top and a Floyd Rose, as well as the Pro-Mod DK24 HH HT M Mahogany, with a figured walnut top and a hardtail bridge.

Charvel’s new HSS offerings include the Pro-Mod DK24 HSS FR M and Pro-Mod DK24 HSS FR M Poplar, featuring a hardtail and Floyd Rose bridge respectively. The Pro-Mod DK24 HSS 2PT CM Ash is now available in Red Ash with chrome hardware. All of these models sport the same sculpted shredder’s cut heel for easy access to all 24 frets.

The HSS models feature a Seymour Duncan Custom Full Shred SH-10B bridge pickup, a Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 single-coil middle pickup and Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 RWRP single-coil neck pickup, while the HH models are loaded with a Seymour Duncan Full Shred bridge pickup and a Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-1n neck pickup.
