NAMM 2020: Young country star Daniel Donato caught up with us at the D’Angelico booth, to talk us through his favourite models from the brand.

He expresses great appreciation for Bob Weir, saying that he’s “The biggest Bob Weir fan that was born in the mid-90s” – hence, his favourite D’Angelico is the Bob Weir signature.

Donato also runs us through how his Telecaster-focused approach informs his music, and why the limitations of the Tele are paradoxically its most inspiring features. But the D’Angelicos allow him to go further. In his words, “The D’Angelico instruments are very smooth, they have a classic sound to them… they’re eerily similar to yesterday but they have the efficiency of today.”
