Nuñez Amplification, a boutique company co-founded by Torche guitarist Jonathan Nuñez, has released the Tetra-Fet. This versatile tube-like OD is designed to go from rich cleans to light crunch to crushing high-gain noise.

Tetra-Fet is targeted at both rhythm and lead players alike, providing a “broad range of tones” to satisfy most drive palettes. This range, which goes from a slight tone-lift to extreme levels of high-gain, is supplied by a discreet Class A overdrive circuit, which is also designed to help preserve your instrument’s natural tone while drive is applied.

According to the brand, the OD pedal is also capable of preserving the tightness of drive tones regardless of electric guitar type – seven-, eight-, or nine-string – or how low your instrument is tuned to.

On top of its OD capabilities, Tetra-Fet can also be deployed as a preamp pedal. The pedal is said to surpass tube preamps in the categories of depth, low-noise, gain, and “huge sound”, as claimed by Nuñez Amplification.

Control-wise, Tetra-Fet sports gain and level knobs, a three-band EQ and a Shift switch. The latter is a two-way switch that selects between extended range (up) and a musical high-pass filter (down).
