Orangewood Guitars has announced the Oliver Black Live, a new matte-black edition of the manufacturer’s Oliver Live guitar.

The guitar features a square-shouldered shape, with a mahogany neck, back and sides and a spruce top. Adding to the dark aesthetic are an ovangkol fingerboard and bridge. The C-shaped neck completes a 25.5” scale length. Driving the electronics is a Fishman Sonitone EQ.

If you’re more of a fan of wood grain rather than a single colour on your guitars, Orangewood also offers the Oliver in natural mahogany, cedar or spruce finishes – alongside its extensive range of other acoustics.

The guitar evokes a certain country star’s aesthetic, which was catered to more directly by Martin last month – but this guitar might be slightly easier on the wallet if you’re looking for the all-black acoustic look. The guitar will go live on 31 October, just in time for some seasonal spookiness.

The Oliver Black lists for $275. More information at orangewoodguitars.com.
