Orangewood Guitars has announced the Oliver Jr Bass, the brand’s first acoustic bass guitar.

The mini-bass is the latest entry into the Overland Collection, and is modelled after the Orangewood Oliver Jr Guitar. A solid mahogany top, layered mahogany back and sides and an ovangkol fretboard give the guitar a mid-focused tone, with an articulate, woody character.

The body sports no cutaways, but it’s balanced shape, as well as a diminutive 23.5” scale length, meaning it should be comfortable to both play and transport. Other features include a 43-mm wide bone nut and a natural satin finish. Each guitar ships with Ernie Ball Earthwood Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Bass Strings, as well as a gig bag.

Amplifying the bass is a Fishman Sonitone pickup, a soundhole-mounted system that allows for control over both volume and tone.

The Oliver Jr Bass is priced at $345, and is available now, with free shipping to customers in the USA. Find out more at orangewoodguitars.com. For more gear news, click here.
