Pigtronix has launched Infinity 3, an update to its Infinity looper pedal platform. Alongside this, it has also introduced its Universal Remote, a three-footswitch control unit that can send signals to any pedals that support TRS footswitch control.

Infinity 3

Infinity 3 features, appropriately enough, three footswitches. These allow you to record, playback, dub, undo and redo, across two stereo loop pairs that can be played in series or parallel as well as synchronised and cue’d for automatic playback.

Other controls include a preset selection knob, a master volume and individual volume controls for each loop. Push-buttons on the unit allow you to change a number of different operating modes, such as whether the pedal is playing in series or in parallel, the behaviour of the footswitches, the sample rate and the sync mode between the two loops.

Under the hood, the pedal has three hours of recording time on up to 50 loop pairs, discrete analogue limiter stages, transparent analogue pass-through and a 24-bit recording engine. You can vary the engine’s sample rate by increments of a semitone over a total of two octaves.

There’s also full MIDI support, meaning you can integrate the Infinity 3 with a DAW, drum machine or other pedals.

The Infinity 3 lists for $419. Find out more at pigtronix.com.

Universal Remote

This passive unit bears three momentary footswitches, capable of a wide range of control applications. It works well with the ‘undo’ input of the Infinity 3, but is compatible with any other pedal that supports a footswitch. When using a quarter-inch TRS cable, the Universal Remote can do three things: the left footswitch shorts the tip to sleeve, the right footswitch shorts the ring to the sleeve and the centre footswitch shorts both the tip and ring to sleeve simultaneously.

The Universal Remote lists for $79. Find out more at pigtronix.com.
