Reddick Guitars has introduced the Voyager Modular Guitar with interchangeable pickups that can be swapped in seconds.

The Voyager would be especially ideal for guitarists covering multiple genres in a span of a gig or recording as it eliminates the need to bring several instruments to a session.

Its body has breakaway sections where different pickup configurations can be swapped quickly without tools or even having to mute your amp – that’s all thanks to a clever magnet writing setup. In theory, you could even swap these out mid-song.

The control section takes a bit more time to change out as it relies on a finger-twisted screw to lock it into place. However, it’s still a lot quicker than busting out a soldering iron.

The types of modules sold by Reddick cover your usual fare of Stratocaster, Telecaster and Les Paul style pickups and controls. The brand also does custom modules.

You can get bodies in ash, walnut or cherry, while the neck is always maple with a 22-fret katalox fingerboard. It has a scale length of 25.5 inches and a compound fretboard radius of 9.5 to 16 inches.

The Voyagers are available for pre-order now, and come with a body, a pickup module and a control section module at an introductory price of $1,499 (usually $1,799). Additional pickup modules are priced at $199 each.
