Online musical instrument marketplace Reverb.com has released a trailer for The Pedal Movie, an upcoming feature-length documentary in which makers and players chart the history of the guitar pedal.

The Pedal Movie tells the story of the stompbox from its beginnings under the feet of Hendrix, built by Roger Mayer, to the huge industry that it’s become to today, full of boutique makers and innovation.

The film talks to prominent guitarists such as Sarah Lipstate (Noveller, Iggy Pop), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Steve Vai, as well as Shellac guitarist and legendary producer Steve Albini – and more.

The film isn’t just focusing on pedal users, either, taking a look at the vibrant build community – interviewing builders from companies such as Death By Audio, Wampler, Chase Bliss, JHS, Meris and more.

Reverb was giving a quick preview of the film at NAMM 2020, when we took a look at its pedalboards rammed full of rare and vintage classics.

The film is slated for a summer release. Find out more over at reverb.com. For more guitar news, click here.
