Reverend’s new Six Gun HPP electric pairs a bridge humbucker with two P-90s

Reverend’s latest Six Gun electric guitar offers a brand-new pickup configuration for the brand: a humbucker in the bridge and two P-90s in the neck and middle positions.

The pickup combination offers players a plethora of tones on tap: the humbucker packs growl, while the P-90s offer clear, open tones. These can be combined using a five-way pickup selector.

All the pickups on the guitar were designed in-house for their specific positions. According to Reverend, this is to ensure “balanced volume and tone when switching”.

As for construction, the Six Gun HPP features a korina body that’s paired to a one-piece roasted maple neck. It comes in four finishes and two fretboard materials. The Coffee Burst and Chronic Blue models sport pau ferro fingerboards, while the Avocado Burst and Midnight Black ones have roasted maple fingerboards.

Reverend’s famous bass contour knob makes an appearance here, too. It lets you tighten or open up your low end, giving each pickup yet more versatility. The knob is positioned alongside your standard volume and tone controls.

Finally, the Six Gun HPP has a Boneite nut, a Wilkinson bridge tremolo, pin drop tuners, and a dual-action truss rod.

Earlier this week, Reverend also launched its first-ever S-type electric. The signature Gil Parris GPS matches traditional style with modern electronics under the hood.
