YouTuber Rick Beato has shared a first look at his upcoming signature Gibson Les Paul Special model, which will come in a Pelham Blue finish.

The guitar is now in production at the Gibson factory, shared the music production expert in an Instagram post on Friday (16 April).

“This is the first one off the line! I am at the Gibson factory and got to see the guitars in progress,” Beato wrote. “Totally cool!”

The signature model appears to feature Beato’s signature on the truss rod cover and equips either P90 or P100 pickups.

Beato first announced he was getting a Gibson signature model during his New Year’s Eve livestream this year.

“About a year ago, I was approached about having a signature Gibson by Cesar [Gueikian, CMO at Gibson] – a very good friend of mine who [asked], ‘If I were to have a signature guitar what would it be?’,” he said during the stream.

“And I said […] I would like to have a Les Paul Special DC, like my TV Yellow one.”

Right now, It’s uncertain whether said TV Yellow variant is getting made, but with the first production model rolling off the factory floor already, we’re likely to find out soon enough.

Beato, who has over two million subscribers on YouTube, is one of very few Gibson endorsees who isn’t an artist or associated with a particular act. Back in 2007, the brand also announced the KS-336, a signature model for actor and guitar collector Kiefer Sutherland.
