The Aynsley Lister signature amp in head/cab configuration
Rift Amplification has teamed up with British blues guitarist Aynsley Lister on a signature amp. This 35-watt, all-tube unit features classic British voicing, and comes in three formats: a head, a 1×12” combo and a 2×12” combo. Matching extension cabinets are also available.
The amp’s sound underwent five years of development, resulting in a voicing that the brand claims is “quintessentially British”. Its tone is shaped by two EL34 power tubes and four preamp tubes, including a 7025, a 12AY7 and two ECC83s.
The combos and extension cabinets are complemented by Eminence Governor speakers, which are spec’ed for tight low-end, smooth midrange and sparkling top-end – perfect for Southern rock or blues.
In the control department, you’ll find a four-band EQ section as well as a preamp volume and master volume. These will allow you to dial in a variety of tones, from sparkling cleans to hot rod-style overdrive with what the brand describes as a ‘cooking valves’ character.
More depth is provided by the amp’s footswitchable, tube-driven spring reverb, inspired by ’60s Californian amps. Round the back, there’s also a series-arranged buffered FX loop that caters for time-based and modulation effects.
The Aynsley Lister signature amp is available at these prices:
- Head alone: £2,599
- 1×12″ extension cab: £799
- 2×12″ extension cab: £799
- 1×12″ combo: £2,799
- 2×12″ combo: £2,999
