RockBoard has announced the MOD 4 All-in-One Wireless System Receiver & Patchbay, as part of its new range of modular pedalboard units.
The unit allows you to route all of the connection from the rear to the front, meaning you can keep your pedals permanently wired into the unit without having to remove anything for set up or tear down. There are four TRS-through jacks – so even if you have an effects loop you can route all your cables through the unit – alongside a quarter-inch output for the receiver.
The wireless function works in the 2.4 GHz ISM band, meaning wherever you are in the world there’s no risk of picking up any interfering signals from radio stations. A full-band frequency path of 20Hz to 20Khz is broadcast, with a small 5 ms of latency. It uses a 24 bit / 48 kHz uncompressed digital transmission method, and works over a range of 30m / 100ft. The unit also provides a USB-charging out, to keep any accessory devices (or just your phone) at full power.
Like all the MOD products, it’s designed to slot neatly into the spaces found in RockBoard pedalboard, and is compatible with a number of other brands.
The unit ships either on its own (€199.90), or with the U2 Wireless Transmitter (€289.90), shipping at the end of July this year.
