Seymour Duncan has announced a limited run of the Pickup Booster, sporting a matte-black finish enclosing the same tried-and-tested boost circuitry.

The pedal features up to 25dB of flat-EQ volume boost, alongside a three-position selector switch for selecting different pickup resonances. The central position is neutral, whereas ‘1’ will voice your single coil more like a vintage humbucker, and ‘2’ will voice it more like a modern humbucker.

The pedal also functions as a buffer, so when engaged with the gain at zero it will reinforce your signal, compensating for any treble loss that comes from long cables or busy pedalboards.

Seymour Duncan says about the pedal: “the Pickup Booster is for when you love the sound of your guitar, but you need a little more: more output, more gain or just a little more control over your guitar’s voice without changing its fundamental character. Think of it as sending your guitar to the gym.”

The Pickup Booster Limited lists for $119. More information at seymourduncan.com.
