NAMM 2020: Seymour Duncan has announced The Psyclone, a humbucker-sized Filter’Tron, allowing for owners of any humbucker-equipped guitar and a soldering iron to achieve that signature Gretsch twang. Take a look at Seymour Duncan’s demo above.

The pickup is powered by double-thickness Alnico V bar magnets, providing a vintage output level. Seymour Duncan does note, however, that there’s “a little extra muscle from the bridge position.” The pickups come with either nickel or gold covers to match most hardware, and four-lead wiring allows for a range of electronics setups, including coil-splitting.
