It’s quite the peculiar sight to see Slash rocking out to virtual Marshall stacks on a laptop. But the times are certainly a-changin’ as the hard rock icon has now appeared in a new promotional video for the popular amp-sim software, AmpliTube 5.

IK Multimedia yesterday (27 May) shared the promo video in which Slash explained how AmpliTube 5 helped his writing process.

“Being on the bus or my hotel room, I’ll take an idea and record it on AmpliTube and then download it and send it over to the guys,” Slash said in the video. “It’s just so damn easy to do it.”

It’s more than a matter of convenience, however – the rocker also praised the software’s sound quality. “Whatever it is, you can do it really, really quickly, efficiently and have the sound quality be excellent,” he said.

IK Multimedia also has a Slash add-on for AmpliTube 5, which includes digital models of the guitarist’s signature Marshall AFD 100 and JCM Slash amps, two 4×12 cabinets, and six pedals.

AmpliTube 5 launched in 2020 and is IK Multimedia’s latest version of its flagship amp and effects modelling software. It includes over 100 new gear models, a reworked cabinet section and adds a new mixer window.
