As Strymon prepares to lift the veil on its newest pedal tomorrow (18 September, 4am BST), it’s teased yet more details on the space-themed device.

In a Facebook post made earlier today, Strymon finally gave away the name of its new pedal: NightSky. The name immediately brings to mind the ‘Sky’ series of reverb pedals. Just like the BigSky and BlueSky, NightSky appears to have a blue enclosure. The pedal will have a texture control with Sparse, Dense and a mysterious third option (possibly diffuse?)

Another image shared earlier today was of one of the pedal’s footswitches, labelled ‘hold (morph)’. The image also confirmed NightSky has a step sequencer, as suggested by a previously shared teaser post.

NightSky’s ‘hold (morph)’ footswitch also matches the one on a pedal in a photo post by Strymon on 15 September. Although obscured from view (by a moon plushie) this may actually be the fullest view of the NightSky so far.

Strymon will be unveiling NightSky on Facebook, 18 September at 4am BST.

In other big reverb pedal news, Eventide Audio yesterday launched a stompbox version of its famed Blackhole reverb algorithm. The effect has been a fan favourite since its introduction on the classic DSP4000.
