Ahead of Summer NAMM 2019, Fender has updated its artist signature catalogue with new models and finishes. New to the signature line-up is a Tele Thinline for Spoon frontman Britt Daniel and a Stratocaster for contemporary Christian musician Lincoln Brewster. Here are the details:

Britt Daniel signature Telecaster Thinline

Inspired by Britt Daniel’s precision-punk guitar style, this slick Tele borrows elements from two of his guitars: an old American Deluxe and a CS Nocaster Thinline. It features a lightweight semi-hollow ash body, a one-piece “Deep C” maple neck as well as a 9.5-inch-radius fingerboard.

For electronics, Fender has gone with a pair of Custom Shop pickups and an S-1 switching system that lets you toggle between parallel and series wiring. Topping off the guitar’s features are Fender’s ClassicGear tuning machines and an arresting Amarillo Gold lacquer finish.

Available in September at £1,899/$1,999.99.

Lincoln Brewster signature Stratocaster

After three years of development, Fender has created a signature Strat for contemporary Christian musician Lincoln Brewster. Branded as a “modern classic”, this Strat combines vintage build designs with modern appointments. The former includes “timeless” body contours and a vintage-shaped ‘Soft-V’ maple neck, while the latter comprises a compound-radius fingerboard and a two-point tremolo system.

This Strat is loaded with three DiMarzio single-coils: two Area 58’s at the neck and middle, respectively, and an Area 61 at the bridge. According to Fender, these pups serve up vintage tones with zero hum. They can also be shaped by a master volume – with a push/pull active boose – and a Tone 1 knob which can be used to sculpt the Strat’s mid-boost.

Wrapping up the axe’s features are vintage-style locking tuners as well as an ash body dressed in a sparkling striking Aztec Gold lacquer finish.

Available in August at £1,869/1,999.99.

New finishes

Along with the two new signature models, Fender has added new finishes to existing artist models. These are detailed below:

  • Justin Meldal-Johnson Bass: Black finish
  • Tony Franklin Fretless Precision Bass: Lake Placid Blue finish with matching headstock
  • Jim Atkins JA-90 Telecaster Thinline: Arctic White finish
  • Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster: Copper finish
