Summer NAMM 2019: Check out Martin’s new acoustic guitars, including the D-16E Brexit and American Chopper Custom

With Summer NAMM on the horizon, Martin has revealed 14 new acoustics. These span additions to the LX travel, Junior and 16 Series as well as new special- and limited-edition models. Here are the highlights:
D-16E Brexit
The most eye-catching of the lot is a special-edition D-16E Brexit model. As its name suggests, this acoustic sports a custom Brexit-themed artwork – designed by Robert F. Goetzl – that superimposes George Washington onto parts of the Union Jack and EU flag. Specs-wise, the instrument features sycamore back and sides, a Sitka spruce top, a high-performance neck taper and a Fishman Matrix VT Enhance pickup.
Lists at $2,799.
LX1R and LX1RE
The travel-sized Little Martin range has been spruced up with the LX1R and its pickup-equipped variant, the LX1RE. The first LX model to sport a pickguard, the LX1R also features a solid Sitka spruce top along with rosewood pattern HPL back and sides.
The LX1R lists at $499, and the LX1RE at $599.
000Jr-10 and 000CJr-10E
The Junior series welcomes the auditorium-styled 000Jr-10 and its cutaway counterpart, the 000CJr-10E. Both acoustics feature a Sitka spruce top, sapele back and sides, a comfortable tapered neck and Fishman Sonitone electronics.
The 000Jr-10 lists at $699, and the 000CJr-10E at $799.
D-16E and OMC-16E Burst
Topping the list of new 16 Series models are the D-16E Burst and OMC-16E Burst. The main tonewood on both models is ovangkol, which is known have unique colours and grains. Each acoustic features a striking mahogany burst ovangkol gloss top complemented by satin-finished ovangkol back and sides.
Lists at $2,399.
Limited-edition American Chopper Custom
This automotive-inspired dreadnought is the product of a collaboration between Martin Guitars and Paul Jr. from the hit TV show American Chopper. Aesthetically, the acoustic looks part guitar and part machine. On the guitar side, you’ll find an Engelmann spruce top as well as Guatemalan rosewood back and sides. The ‘machine’ side, on the other hand, comprises riveted aluminium panels, custom wood and copper inlays, as well as skeletonised butterbean knobs.
Only seven pieces are available. Lists at $39,999.
