We’ve reached the conclusion of Summer NAMM 2019! Here are five of our favourite offerings from the last day.
Blackstar HT Club 40 MkII Kentucky Special
Blackstar’s big reveal at Summer NAMM 2019 was the HT Club 40 MkII Kentucky Special. This combo’s pristine cleans are derived from a pair of 6L6 power tubes, which feature alongside a single 12-inch Eminence Screamin’ Eagle speaker. Watch Alt-Country star Daniel Donato take the amp for a test drive in the video above.
Eastman has kickstarted a new Otto D’Ambrosio-crafted series with the Romeo thinline. This semi-hollow oozes elegance with its stylish cutaway body shape, while a solid spruce top and mahogany laminate back and sides form its tonewood palette. The guitar also sports two custom-wound Lollar Imperial humbuckers, which combine with its semi-hollw build for some delectable tones.
Gamechanger Audio Plasma Coil
Latvian brand Gamechanger Audio has teamed up with Jack White’s Third Man Records for this unique box of fuzz. It’s designed to unleash sonic destruction, with several octave circuits added to taste.
Dunlop Jimi Hendrix micro pedals
Dunlop has debuted four micro pedals that are must-haves for Hendrix fans. The Authentic Hendrix ’69 Psych series covers all grounds of Hendrix’s famed tone with a Fuzz Face Distortion, Octavio Fuzz, Uni-Vibe Chorus/Vibrato and Band Of Gypsies Fuzz. Each mini stomper also sports a vibrant portrait of the great man himself.
Dophix is an Italian boutique pedal brand with a host of artisan creations. The Michelangelo is an overdrive/boost combo that’s as bold as its namesake, letting you transit from a boost to crunch to distortion with ease. The pedal’s star quality is its reliance on JFET transistors, which contribute to a warm, tube-like sound.
