In June, Sunn O))) joined forces with EarthQuaker Devices to release the Life Pedal. Only 1,000 units of the drive/octave fuzz box were made available, and all were snapped up within hours of the launch. Thankfully, the Life Pedal has returned for another limited run of 500 units, this time in a striking gold enclosure.

The 500-unit run will be available through two sources – 300 through Reverb, of which 100 will be packaged in a bundle that includes the drone metal band’s Life Metal LP on vinyl and assorted memorabilia. The remaining 200 will be available directly through Sunn O))) on their upcoming tour.

While the Life Pedal’s enclosure has changed, its circuitry hasn’t. The stomper retains its LM308 chip, clean boost stage, Shin-Ei-based octave fuzz section and distortion circuit that’s inspired by ‘Whiteface’ ProCo Rats.
