Building on the success of its Blues King 8 and 12 tube amplifiers, Supro has launched the Blues King 10.

While the 8 is a single-watt, 8-inch model and the 12 is a 15-watt, 12-inch model, the latest addition is a Goldilocks – style “just right” option, offering five watts through a 10-inch speaker. With its Class-A power amp section, it’s touted to deliver the classic 6V6-powered tube-amp tones of the 50s. Key to this tone is a natural response and an impressive headroom.

Also playing a vital role in the Blues King 10’s tone is a custom-designed Supro BK-10 speaker that’s said to achieve spectacular breakup with the gain cranked, and a velvety midrange character at low volumes.

Other features on the new amp include an on-board spring reverb, switchable FET Boost and FAT Drive circuits and a simple 2-band EQ. The Boost can be activated if your signal needs an extra push, and the Drive activates a CMOS tube emulator circuit that’ll send your tone soaring with added distortion and sustain. The spring reverb and the 2-band EQ offer additional tone-shaping possibilities, whether you’re practising at home or playing at a gig.
