TC Electronic releases the Hall of Fame 2 Mini and Flashback 2 Mini

TC Electronic has announced the Hall of Fame 2 Mini and Flashback 2 Mini effects pedals, two much smaller versions of their original counterparts. Both pedals also feature the multi-function MASH footswitch, and TC Electronic’s signature TonePrint technology.

The mini pedals, on the face of things, are simple enough affairs, each featuring only three knobs. The Hall of Fame 2 Mini comes with three knobs: decay, tone and level. These control the time, colour and blend of the effect respectively. However, to squeeze the most use out of it you’ll want to use TonePrint, which lets you select from a huge number of possible reverb tones, including the new Shimmer Reverb– a shoegaze-inspired octave-up effect.

The MASH footswitch also allows for pressure-sensitive control over the reverb, functioning similarly to an external expression pedal, but with a far smaller footprint.

The Flashback 2 Mini also sports only three knobs: feedback, delay and level. In a similar fashion to its reverb sibling, it allows for expression-pedal-like control over different parameters with the MASH switch – which also functions as a tap-tempo, overriding the delay time setting. TonePrint once again comes in handy, unlocking the full number of delay tones the Flashback 2 Mini has to offer, from crystalline, polyphonic octave delays to old-school tape grit.
