Wylde Audio is known for its eye-catching and unique guitars – and the newest IronWorks Barbarian is no different.

This is the newest guitar to the Wylde Audio Barbarian collection, offering an SG-style mahogany body, three-piece maple neck with 22 frets, and a 14-inch-radius ebony fingerboard.

Despite the similarities, there is one standout feature that differs from the standard Barbarian with a quilted maple top: an engraved metal top.

Continuing with Wylde’s aesthetic of viking imagery, the newest guitar also has a Celtic style border with a range of floral and animalistic images.

As if the guitar body could’t get any wilder, there is also a skull from Black Label Society’s logo alongside BLS initials which sit atop the letters S.D.M.F. According to the manufacturer, these stand for Strengh, Determination, Merciless, and Forever which is the calling card of Black Label Society and the title of the 2005 track from Kings of Damnation 98-04.

Other impressive features include pearloid runes unlays, Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq nut, as well as a TonePros TSBP TOM/T1SZ tailpiece and set-neck construction.

In terms of pickups, the axe dons a pair of EGMs, which are a clear favourite for Wylde. They are controlled by two volume controls, a master tone parameter and a three-way selector switch.

Due to some of the more unique features, it is slightly more expensive than other Barbarians, retailing for $1,799.
