Woodpecker has launched the 31-inch Travel Koa, a portable guitar that should make taking an acoustic guitar on a plane a breeze.
The diminutive guitar features a solid koa back and sides, with a slightly deeper body for a fuller, louder sound – compensating for its small dimensions otherwise. The neck and fingerboard are both made of African blackwood, while the bridge is mahogany.
The body’s wood grain is on full display, with a thin-open-pore finish, that according to Woodpecker “lets the wood ‘breathe’ but still offers the wood ample protection. This finish has the best tone. Also, it’s very easy to keep clean.”

Electronics are included as an optional extra.
The Woodpecker Travel Koa lists for €239 with no electronics, or €289 with. For more information head over to woodpeckerinstruments.com.
