G&L launches its very own Custom Shop
The G&L Custom Shop is finally open for business, and features a formidable range of “off-menu” options.
After staking his claim to fame with the invention of the Stratocaster and Telecaster, Leo Fender co-founded G&L in 1979. It was at G&L where the master luthier continued—and cemented—his legacy with instruments that bear his name. But now, the company is launching a Custom Shop that augments its production-line instrument with a range of bespoke ones.
With the G&L Custom Shop, you can now tailor made-to-order guitars with as many specs as you wish. Choose between urethane and nitrocellulose finishes, four variations of maple for the neck, and alder, swamp ash, lightweight American basswood and okoume bodies.

The possibilities are (almost) endless: Available neck profiles range from a variety of “C” shapes—Slim, Classic, Classic Plus and Wide—to the Modern “U,” to the Soft and Deep “V” styles. You can even have your pickups hand-wound using the machine that the late Fender personally invented. There are too many options to mention here, but to see a full list of them, head over to this link.
