Ibanez has decided to get into the fanned-fret game with their brand new SRFF805 series bass. Sporting a beautiful ash body that strikes the perfect balance between player comfort and tone-enhancing density, the new body has tremendous balance to it and a strong resonance of tone.
The fanned fret system is designed to optimize the tension of each string, helping to create a more “alive,” open tone. Not only does this approach expand harmonic complexity, it also improves playability across all strings. Perhaps a little daunting at first glance, every player who has picked one up has commented with surprise on the ease and comfort of fingering the fanned fretboard.
The bass features an Ibanez custom electronics 3-band EQ with EQ bypass and mid frequency switch. This offers precision tonal control, including a switch to choose passive-only operation. When the EQ bypasses activated, the treble tone control knob becomes the global tone control for the passive circuit.

The Bartolini BH1 pickups give the bass a balancing clarity with warmth that is the hallmark of the BH1 pickup. Coils with lower resonant frequency provide tighter bottom end and a fuller midrange. The dual-coil style configuration maximizes articulation and a long blade pole piece widens the magnetic field, providing balanced string-to-string pickup response.
