John D’Addario III to become CEO of the D’Addario Company

In addition to his current role as president.

D’Addario has announced, as of 1 January 2020, John D’Addario III, will take on the title of CEO in addition to his current role as President of the guitar string and accessories manufacturer.

John D’Addario III is the son of John D’Addario Jr. and the nephew of Jim D’Addario, the company’s current CEO. He has held many positions in the organisation over his 23-year tenure with the company, starting out working in the shipping department. The D’Addario company note that he “has been instrumental in helping to drive D’Addario’s meteoric growth from an American guitar string company to a global powerhouse in the music accessories business.”

As Jim D’Addario steps down from his current role as CEO he will assume a new dual role as both Chairman of the Board and Chief Innovation Officer. He said of the upcoming change: “I look forward to being able to focus on the aspects of the business I’ve always loved most—creating new, dynamic products that solve musicians’ problems and the innovative marketing behind them.”

John D’Addario III said of the announcement: “there’s no question that my grandfather, father, and uncle had a unique vision for our company. My goal is to build on that vision and ensure sustainable growth, while never losing sight of our core values and the integrity of our brands.”
