Live Nation Urban has announced the Black Tour Directory – a comprehensive online portal which it hopes will lead to more work opportunities for Black professionals and Black-owned companies operating in the live music industry.

The industry resource collates hundreds of music and audio professionals, from tour managers, production managers, sound engineers, lighting experts, stage and set designers, stage managers, and much more into a single database. Each professional will be contactable through the Black Tour Directory’s official website.

In his statement launching the website, Live Nation Urban President Shawn Gee nodded at resource groups in support of racial equality such as Roadies Of Color United, Diversify The Stage and Black Promoters Collective.

“We all have one common goal, to make sure once live entertainment returns at scale,” Gee said in a statement. “There are more opportunities that exist for Black people, and all underrepresented groups of people, throughout the touring industry, particularly in technical and production positions.”

Shawn Gee also led a panel discussion on the Black Tour Directory during a special edition of “Backstage with Crew Nation”. Panel guests included the founders and CEOs of Curtis Battles Production, Tina Farris Tours, Global Event Production Network and MCG Productions. Watch it in its entirety below.
