Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, PRS has announced that its event celebrating 35th anniversary, Experience PRS 2020, has been cancelled.

The news follows many other similar cancellations and delays to major music events, including SXSW, Coachella, Carlos Santana’s European tour, Knotfest Japan and Pearl Jam’s upcoming tour.

In a statement about a cancellation, PRS said: “we are extremely sorry to not be able to celebrate our 35th Anniversary with this event. At this time, we do not have an alternative date for the next Experience PRS event. We will be discussing that over the coming months and will communicate about any future events as soon as possible. We do have some exciting gear announcements planned in coordination with this event, and we continue to look forward to sharing those with you in the coming months.”

The event was not the only celebration of 35 years of the brand, with new special Custom 24s and signature models among the extensive anniversary additions to its lineup of guitars.
