Online gear marketplace Reverb has revealed its lists for the top-selling guitar amps and pedals of 2019.
Topping the overall pedals list is, fittingly enough, a reverb – the TC Electronic Hall of Fame. TC Electronic also grabs the second spot with the Ditto Looper. Interestingly, these two positions are the same as last year’s – evidently, these two stompboxes are the go-to for loopers and reverbs respectively. The bronze podium position for pedals has been taken by the Fulltone OCD, which again made last year’s list, coming in at number four.
The best-selling amps of 2019 has a varied podium indeed: on top is the Fender Blues Junior, a reliable 15W tube combo, followed by Boss’ 50W Katana, a digital modelling combo usable at home or on stage, and then third place is Yamaha’s THR10, a small coffee-table-top amplifier centred around portability and ease of use for practising.
Reverb also noted that this year we’ve seen a convergence of guitar and synth technology, with gear such as the EHX Bass Mono Synth and the Boss SY-1 make the top 15 list of newly released pedals. Check out our list of the best synth pedals of 2019 for more on that – and peruse the lists of pedals and amps over at Reverb.
