The team behind The Guitar Show, the UK’s biggest guitar event, has launched the 9-42 podcast, an interview show that features guitar-playing and gear-making guests.

9-42 is presented by show organiser Jason Hunt and Ant Short, and has so far seen guests such as Phil X (Bon Jovi), Glen Matlock (The Sex Pistols), Earl Slick (David Bowie), Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal (Guns N’ Roses) and Mikey Demus (Skindred, Redbeard Effects).

Normally released fortnightly, the podcast is following a weekly schedule during lockdown. Jason Hunt said of the concept behind the show: “There are plenty of really good gear-related podcasts and vlogs, so we’ve always wanted 9-42 to give an insight into what makes our interviewees tick, what music inspired them to start playing, what keeps them excited about the instrument etc.

“We’ve been blown away by the response both from the guests – who’ve been really generous with their time and stories – and from listeners, who really seem to love what we’re doing. We’re really looking forward to the next few months, with some great guests lined up, including some key players from the UK guitar industry. It’s great to be able to provide some of these really talented builders, designers a platform and shine a light (or at least point a mic) on some of the amazing work they’re doing.”
