J. Chester Amplification has announced The Brit, a boutique 15-watt tube amp that’s fully hand-wired and well-suited to a variety of music styles.

The Brit features an all-tube circuitry: 12AX7s occupy the preamp and phase inverter while the twin EL84s drive the amp’s unmistakable British character. A 5Y3 in the rectifier also provides that classic tube sag that amp aficionados will appreciate, and a Spinal Tap-referencing front panel featuring knobs that all go to ‘11’ gives The Brit a cheeky character.

The hardware features of The Brit are no less impressive. Mercury Magnetics transformers lie at the heart of the amp and the 12-inch Warehouse G12C/S ceramic speaker provides all the touch-response and pedal-friendliness a guitar player needs. Rated at 75 watts, the Warehouse speaker provides a good amount of headroom and can be pushed to breakup if desired.

The Brit weighs in at 35 pounds, making it suitable as a grab-and-go amp for practice sessions and performances. The amp also comes with an integrated digital reverb with mix and dwell controls to help fill up a sound space.
