J Rockett releases another Klon-inspired pedal

The new Archer Clean/Color Boost is, as its name suggests, a transparent boost that also lets you bump up the midrange.

J Rockett Archer Clean Color boost

For mere mortals like us, Klon Centaurs are way outta reach. Thankfully, there have been many (more affordable) clones over the years, and the latest to gallop into the stable is J Rockett Audio Design’s new Archer Clean/Color Boost.

The stompbox, which joins J Rockett’s existing Archer line, can be used as both a transparent or colored boost. It’s an “exact re-creation of the clean boost side of a Klon,” the company said, but the addition of a “Color” knob allows you to dial in more midrange—the Klon ‘clang’—if you so desire.

Or, as J Rockett put it, “Go from beautiful cleans to slamming the front end of your amp for rock ’n’ roll.” Hear the pedal in action here:

The Archer Clean/Color Boost lists for $199. For more information, check out rockettpedals.com.
