Jared James Nichols is to host a new weekly live stream series, named the Blues Power Hour. The show will be aired on Gibson and Epiphone’s Instagram pages, alternating each week, every Tuesday at 1:00pm CT/11:00am PT.

Nichols said of the new series: “At the moment, the world is having a hard reset and not able to experience the thrill of live music. We can’t wait to get back on the road and connect with people, but for now a Les Paul and headphones will have to do.”

The announcement comes soon after Nichols, along with his band (Dennis Holm on drums and Baron Fox on bass/keyboards) released their new single, Threw Me to the Wolves. The song was produced by Jay Ruston, whose credits include Anthrax, Steel Panther and Stone Sour, and co-written with Mark Jackson and Ian Scott.

The live stream is one of many new initiatives being taken by artists and gear brands, as COVID-19 continues to keep live music at bay for the time being. Gibson had previously launched Homemade Music, a series where artists perform stripped-down acoustic versions of songs, recorded from home. Neil Young and Ben Gibbard were among the first artists to start regularly broadcasting from home themselves.

Watch the next stream today (12 May) over on Gibson’s Instagram here, and the stream after that on Epiphone’s Instagram here. For more music news, click here.
