Joe Satriani has announced 2020 tour dates in the UK and Europe in support of his upcoming studio album. 

The guitarist will kick off The Shapeshifting Tour in the UK at De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill on 22 May and wrap up at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on 28 May. He will also play Glasgow, Gateshead, Manchester and London. Tickets go on general sale today, 15 November. The tour will also feature dates in Europe, starting with Mainz, Germany on 15 April and ending in Lyon, France on 7 June. More dates are to be announced.

Satriani will be backed on The Shapeshifting Tour by drummer Kenny Aronoff, bassist Bryan Beller and keyboardist Rai Thistlewayte. The live show will include songs from Satriani’s upcoming 17th studio album, slated for release in April 2020, as well as crowd favourites like Surfing With The Alien, Always With Me, Always With You and Flying In A Blue Dream.

Satriani also recently announced the re-release of his 1987 album Surfing With The Alien. The limited edition double LP will include new artwork along with a bonus disc, Stripped – The Backing Tracks, which features all the songs of the 1987 classic but with the solos removed. The release will be limited to 3,500 copies.
