The family of John Prine has shared the late Americana icon’s last recorded song, I Remember Everything. The song was first unveiled in the post-credits of Picture Show, the live streamed tribute to Prine which aired on 11 June. Take a listen to I Remember Everything above.

Written by Prine alongside long-time friend and collaborator Pat McLaughlin, I Remember Everything was recorded in Prine’s own living room with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb.

Picture Show: A Tribute Celebrating John Prine was put together by the musician’s wife, Fiona Whelan Prine and his label Oh Boy Records. It contains unseen footage of Prine, along with firsthand accounts and performances from a host of musical artists, including Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Kurt Vile and numerous others.

The tribute show also encouraged viewers to donate to Make the Road New York, an organization aiding immigrants and working-class families, Alive Hospice, which provides support and counsel to terminally ill patients and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

John Prine died at the age of 73, in April of this year from complications related to COVID-19. His final record was 2018’s The Tree Of Forgiveness. Before his death, he toured relentlessly worldwide in support of the album, performing at some of the most uncharacteristically big shows of his career – including sold-out shows in New York’s Radio City Music Hall and the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Ireland.
