NAMM 2020: Lace Music Products has announced the Led Sensor electric guitar pickup design, inspired by the theory of Cymatics.

Cymatics is defined as the visualisation of sound and vibrations in the form of circular images. Lace has implemented them as a series of six designs etched into the Led Sensor pickups, the first three of which many should find familiar: Crop Circle, Zep and Zoso.

The new pickup designs can be found in Lace Sensor models, Dually humbucker models and on Lace’s Custom Shop Loaded Pickguards. “We are excited with this new take on the visual aspect of pickup design and the meaning around it,” said Don Lace, President of Lace Music Products.

The Lace Sensor Red recently made it to our list of top 10 best Stratocaster bridge pickups, alongside other heavy-hitters like Klein and Lindy Fralin. The Red performed particularly well in the noise department due to Lace’s proprietary Field Barrier system that surrounds both the coil and the magnet, reducing the amount of 60-cycle hum. Its patented Lace Micro Combs also yield a wider palette of tones compared to traditional bobbins, while simultaneously maintaining a better string balance.
