The Spider V is available in 30, 60, 120 and 240 incarnations, with a head version also hitting stores in time for Christmas.
The Spider 30 features an eight-inch speaker and, as its name suggests, packs 30 watts of power into its compact enclosure. The 60 has a 10-inch speaker and, like the 1×12” 120 and 2×12” 240, introduces the G10 internal wireless receiver, compatible with the Relay G10T transmitter.
In addition to the huge range of effects presets, the amps also offer genre and artist presets created by iconic guitarists, as well as a USB interface, drum loops and a built-in metronome. The free Spider V mobile app for iOS and Android provides access to more than 10,000 guitar tones in the cloud.
Speaking to G&B at the launch of the new Spider range, which coincided with Line 6’s 20th anniversary, Line 6 president Marcus Ryle, said: “The original Spider amps offered the benefits of a quality modeling amp to an unprecedented range of guitarists, and we’re excited to continue that legacy with the release of the fifth generation.
“Spider V is packed with innovative features, including amazing guitar amp and effects modeling, an easy-to-use design and a full-range speaker configuration. It’s more than just a great guitar amp, it’s the best Spider we’ve ever created.”
The Spider 30 retails at £170, with the 60 £281, the 120 £366, the 240 £468, the Head £426 and the Relay G10T £84.
