Line 6 unveils the Powercab 112 and 112 Plus
Both speakers feature Line 6’s proprietary speaker-modeling tech, and can emulate six classic, timeless loudspeaker drivers.

Line 6 has released the Powercab 112 and 112 Plus, two 250-watt active guitar speaker systems that are capable of replicating six classic, boutique speaker drivers from brands including Celestion, Jensen and Eminence.
Flick a switch, and both 1×12-inch cabinets will toggle between: Four Celestion speakers (Greenback, Vintage, G12M065 and Blue-Bell), a Jensen P12Q, and an Eminence Swamp Thang Patriot.
Thanks to Line 6’s proprietary speaker-modeling technology, both Powercabs have much more to offer than your average cabinet simulator. While standard-issue cab sims suffer from tonal coloration due to the latent characteristics of the speakers, the Powercabs directly replicate the frequencies and behaviors of the classic speakers themselves. The result? The most authentic tones possible with such emulation technology.
But if you’d rather go with the cab sim tones generated by your modelers, simply choose the “Flat” mode. This turns the Powercab into a neutral, wide-range frequency speaker that’s perfect for reproducing the sounds of your modeler’s presets, with little tonal coloration.
The Powercab 112 Plus comes with more advanced features: a two-inch LCD screen, 128 user presets, MIDI functionality, a USB audio interface and host of other capabilities. You can even choose to use a virtual mic to mimic authentic mic-ed up tones, with options for the mic model and distance. Finally, you can pick up to 128 speaker cabinet impulse responses (IRs) for massive tone-crafting versatility.
“Guitarists love the flexibility and tone of modelers, but many also want to keep the visceral experience, sound, and physicality of playing through an authentic guitar cabinet with a 12-inch speaker rather than plug into a PA,” explained Line 6 founder, Marcus Ryle. “Powercab speaker systems offer guitarists the best of all worlds: modeling technology played through an actual amp, plus a selection of several classic guitar speakers to choose from.”
