Lowden has unveiled a stunning limited-edition Winter 2018 collection, comprising 25 acoustic guitars built with the rare Tiger Myrtle wood.

After a decade’s search, Lowden got its hands on 25 sets of the rare wood species. The brand is pairing Tiger Myrtle with Sitka spruce to create instruments that deliver a clear, bright tone balanced by a subtle low-end warmth.

The guitars in the Winter 2018 collection are available in a range of models from Lowden’s 35 and 50 series. They each feature matched Tiger Myrtle headfacings that are bound and inlayed with maple and ebony. Their bodies are made up of Tiger Myrtle back and sides, a Sitka spruce soundboard, and a figured maple binding.

Each instrument also boasts a five-piece mahogany neck with rosewood splices, and an ebony fingerboard bound with maple and ebony. Completing the guitars’ premium appointments are a set of Gotoh 510 gold tuners with ebony buttons.
