Guitars and pedals by Mogwai, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and more are being auctioned for charity. The ten-day-long auction kicked off yesterday. It’s supported by Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell and will benefit the UK charity Exeter Deaf Academy.

Among the 60 lots are a Vox Phantom guitar signed by Mogwai, a My Bloody Valentine bundle with a signed Devi Ever FX Vintage Fuzz Master pedal, an Alcest bundle including what appears to be a Suhr Riot Distortion Pedal, and a Zoom A2.1u acoustic effects pedal signed by Wayne Hussey (The Mission, The Sisters Of Mercy). Goswell has also put up one of her favourite and first-ever guitars, a Gordon Smith double-cutaway signed by the band, up for auction alongside other Slowdive memorabilia.

Other artists who have also contributed items like setlists, box sets, posters, and apparel to the auction include The Cure, Low, Pet Shop Boys, Thurston Moore, American Football and CHVRCHES.

The proceeds of the auction are expected to go towards helping Deaf Academy open a new school in Exmouth, Devon for hearing-impaired children and young people. Last year’s auction, which Goswell also supported, helped fund the refurbishment of the Academy’s facilities.

Yesterday, Slowdive also unveiled a nine-minute version of Golden Hair, which they recorded in 2014. The single will be released as a gold seven-inch vinyl single and is part of the Sonic Cathedral Singles Club. Hear it below:
